Cross-border Insubric ecosystem for startups and leading companies in the field of stem cells for regenerative medicine.

• Partnership – Italy: University of Insubria (UNINSUBRIA, leading partner), University of Eastern Piedmont (UPO), Insubric Institute for Life Research Foundation (FIIRV), HETA RES Srl. Switzerland: Swiss Stem Cell Foundation (SSCF)
• The 30-months project (March 1, 2026 – August 31, 2028), is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Lombardy Region, with a total contribution of €100,000 for FIIRV. The Kick-off meeting was hosted by Uninsubria in Varese on April 10, 2026.
• The project represents a significant step towards sharing strategic objectives, as well as providing an opportunity for discussion and collaboration among local companies interested in seizing opportunities for innovation, research, and technology transfer in the field of regenerative medicine.
• FIIRV’s goal is to assign space to 2-3 new companies operating in the field of stem cell research wishing to settle in the Biopark. A selection process will be conducted for companies interested in free leasing of spaces and laboratories that FIIRV manages at Insubrias BioPark, which already hosts 13 incubated biotechnology companies. FIIRV will provide technical, logistical, IT, security, maintenance, promotion, training services, meeting spaces, events, and co-working activities, and a conference room. Furthermore, it will support the promotion of research, development, and technological innovation, establishing an effective network of relationships between partners and the local community, and will offer support for experimental and laboratory activities, using the equipment available in FIIRV laboratories.
